Mrs. Sarah Wheeling McCoy, of King, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 15, 1925 in Pulaski County, VA to the late Alberta Turner Wheeling and W.T. Wheeling. Mrs. McCoy was a member of Rural Hall Moravian Church and the Lillian Felts Stauber Sunday School Class. She volunteered much of her time at King Outreach Center.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband, Hallett Eugene McCoy; one daughter, Carolyn McCoy Hicks; one great-granddaughter, Baylee Grace McCoy; and eight siblings. Mrs. McCoy is survived by one daughter, Teresa Starling (Vaughan) of Winston-Salem; one son, Michael McCoy (Debbie) of King; four grandchildren: Sherry Jeffries (Scottie) of Kernersville, Steven Starling, Ashley Starling both of Winston-Salem, and Adam McCoy (Emily) of King; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Stoots and Alma Cochran; and one brother, Edward Wheeling.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Rural Hall Moravian Church with the Rev. Steve Craver officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 26 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
