Sarah Bowden Lawson

Ms. Sarah Bowden Lawson, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born April 15, 1936 in Forsyth Co. the daughter of the late Thomas and Irene Bowden. Ms. Lawson was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed by all who knew her. She was an avid Tarheel Basketball fan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James Charles Pegram Jr. and a daughter, Elizabeth Boyd Cogdill. Ms. Lawson is survived by two daughters, Melodie Ramirez (Santos) of King and Vickie Stephens (Chet) of Cullowhee, 7 grandchildren, Andy Boyd, Chris Boyd, David Ramirez (Lori), Ana Ramirez, Haven Conner (Nathan), Allen Stephens and Dinora Ramirez (Fausto), 6 great-grandchildren, Bailey, Christopher, Melanie, Emily, Kevin and Janessa and one sister, Fannie Cooper of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Tommy Holder officiating. Burial will follow in First Christian Church of King Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home.
