Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Yarbrough Haneline, 95, of Lexington, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Hinkle Hospice Home. She was born August 26, 1916 in Davidson County to Albert Greene and Amanda Snider Yarbrough. Mrs. Haneline graduated from Churchland High School in 1934. She was the manager of Churchland Elementary School Cafeteria for a number of years. She was a member of Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church. She married Charles Ray Haneline on November 28, 1975. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two nieces, Nancy Lyon and husband John, and Mary Virginia Yarbrough. Surviving are seven nieces and nephews, Edwin Yarbrough (Lona), John Yarbrough (Barbara), Leona Yarbrough Hartley (Bruce), all of Lexington; Marie Yarbrough Wood (Donald) and Jean Yarbrough Painter, all of Salisbury, Norma Jean Yarbrough Huffstetler (Brice) and Doris Anne Yarbrough, all of Gastonia; a number of great nieces and nephews; and a number of great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 30 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
