Sarah "Gannie" Frances Weisner Mabe

Ms. Sarah “Gannie” Frances Weisner Mabe, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at SECU Hospice House- Lower Cape Fear LifeCare. She was born May 3, 1936, in Forsyth County, NC to the late Elser Rowan Weisner and Myrl Bernice Boyles Weisner. Sarah enjoyed car racing, especially cheering on the #4 car at Bowman Gray. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition, she enjoyed traveling around the country sightseeing. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time at the ocean and riding on the pontoon boat. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Mabe; son, Henry “Marty” Wright; daughter, Robbie Gail Mabe; sister, Dorothy Buelin; and two brothers, Charles Weisner and Jack Boyles. She is survived by her two children, Dena Johnson (Ricky) and Scotty Wright (Tammy); three grandchildren, Marty, Brandi, and Erica; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Boyles; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the hospice staff for the care given to Sarah. A graveside service will be conducted 11:30am Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Tim Gammons. The family will receive friends from 10am until 11am Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
