Saphera King Whicker Anthony

Mrs. Saphera King Whicker Anthony passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on June 22, 1922 in Orange County, NC to the late Elliott King and Ethel Allen King. Saphera was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands George Grey Whicker and Max S. Anthony; siblings Meredith Goode, Whalen King, Urchel King, and Mallonee King; and son in law Randy Sidden. Saphera is survived by son Randall Whicker (Christine); daughter Susan Sidden; granddaughters Vanessa Flynt (Michael), Erin Ringley, and Sabrina Hicklin (Sean); great grandchildren Matthew and Mitchell Flynt, Cole Simpson, and Ella Hicklin; siblings Allan King (Carol), Nancy K. Gordon, Earleen Quesinberry, and Linda Reeves. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Walburg Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 14, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Charity of Donor's Choice.
