Sandra Culbreth West

Winston Salem - Sandra Lee Culbreth West, 70, passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Sandra was born May 25, 1946 in Forsyth County to the late Harold Lee Culbreth Sr. and Ruth Aileen Stanley Culbreth. She was a graduate from East Forsyth High School in 1964. Sandra worked at Reynolds Tobacco Company, Wachovia and retired from Liberty Hardware. She was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, where she taught the 4-year-old Sunday School for over 40 years. She was a member of NCBM/Baptists on Mission and participated on various volunteer mission trips and training. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Auxiliary . Sandra was adored and looked upon as a wonderful maternal figure by all children, biological and not. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clarence Edwin ""Eddie"" West Jr.; a son, Edwin Lee West and wife Kelly; three granddaughters, Taylor Madison Cooley, Destiny MaClay, and Peyton Makenna; a daughter, Dana West Vivelo; one grandson, Cody Anthony; a son, Jason Scott West and wife Mary Ellen; two grandsons and two granddaughters, Shawn Scott Edwin, Victoria Scarlett Elizabeth, Sylvia Marie Elaine and James Lee Rogers; one brother, Harold Lee Culbreth Jr (HL) and wife Libby; two brother-n-laws, two sister-n-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is requesting all NCBM/Baptists on Mission to wear their yellow shirts and also wants any of her baseball player family to wear their jerseys.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Oaklawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will be on Monday at Salisbury National Cemetery.
