Sandra Binkley Walker

KERNERSVILLE- Sandra Binkley Walker was born on January 27, 1961 in Iredell County to Joseph Gilmer and Harriet McAuley Binkley. She grew up in Clemmons and was a 1979 graduate of West Forsyth High School and a 1983 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill. Sandra was employed by RSVP Communications for over 22 years. She married Vernon Russell Walker on October 17, 1987. Sandra was a godly woman, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to all that she met. Her passion was caring for others, putting everyone else's needs far above her own. She loved her children and family more than she loved herself and will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. Sandra, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Vernon Russell Walker; a daughter, Stephanie Leigh Walker; a son, Joseph Samuel Walker; her parents, Gilmer and Harriet Binkley; and a brother, Joseph Lee Binkley (Maryan).

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Oak View Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
