Sandra "Sandy" Tufo

Sandra “Sandy” Tufo, of Norfolk, Massachusetts passed away on December 9, 2024, after a courageous 4.5-year battle with Glioblastoma. Born on May 30, 1958, Sandy was a beacon of love, kindness, and selflessness who devoted her life to her family and her community.

Sandy’s greatest joy came from being present for her children and grandchildren. She was a constant source of support, attending every milestone and event in their lives. A loving wife to her late husband, Glenn Tufo, she cared for him with steadfast dedication until his passing. Sandy also gave her time generously to others, volunteering at her children’s and grandchildren’s schools, in Scouts, and at Main Street United Methodist Church, where she found fulfillment in helping and giving to those around her.

Sandy had an infectious positivity that touched everyone she met. Her bright smile and warm laughter could light up any room, offering comfort, joy, and hope even in the most challenging moments. Her strength and optimism left a lasting mark on all who were fortunate to know her.

Music was another of Sandy’s great loves, and she cherished playing instruments with her grandchildren, creating memories filled with joy and harmony. Her favorite band, The Rasmus, brought her immense happiness, and she often shared her love of their music with her family. Sandy also found unconditional love and companionship in her best friend, her beloved dog, Gus, whose presence brought her endless comfort and joy.

Sandy is survived by her son Jonathan Tufo and his wife Larkin Tufo; her daughter Micaela Perdue and her husband Timmy Perdue, along with their children Brandon and Tyler Pegram and Ryder Perdue; her step-granddaughter Madison Perdue and her son Kasen Rain; and her daughter Tammy Griffith and her husband Larry Griffith, with their son Liam Griffith; and her brother Scott Long. She leaves behind a legacy of love as a devoted wife, mother, friend, and Grammy, who was always there for anyone in need.

A memorial service to honor Sandy’s life will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Kuntz officiating. The arrangements have been made by Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home – Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sandy’s honor to Main Street United Methodist Church, 306 S Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.

In keeping with their generous and selfless spirit, Sandy and her family chose to further research and education by donating her body to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Their final act of kindness will help advance science and medical understanding, continuing their legacy of helping others one last time.

Sandy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
