Sandra Mckinney

Kernersville – Mrs. Sandra Blanche Saunders McKinney, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at her residence. She was born on August 7, 1939 in Reidsville, NC to Millard Fillmore and Lela Walker Saunders. Sandra was a retired Registered Nurse and loved to help others. She enjoyed sewing and was a very talented seamstress. Sandra was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church and attended when her health allowed.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Moore and a brother, Millard Saunders, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of exactly 60 years, Don B. McKinney; one daughter, Tammy Reid (David); one son, Anthony McKinney (Beth); four grandchildren, Travis, Ian, Liam, and Keely McKinney; three sisters, Shelby McBane, Brenda Strickland, and Mona Gunn (Nelson); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service for Sandra will be held and officiated by Pastor Steve Roberson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Union Grove Baptist Church at 5424 Union Grove Road, Oak Ridge 27310. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
