A Tribute to a Very Special Person

Sandra Cooke, born Sandra Jeanette Yow in Randleman, NC on June 22 of 1946, was the daughter of Roland Wilson Yow and Effie Loflin Yow. She departed this earthly life on March 31, 2023 at the age of 76.

Sandra attended Randleman High School (voted “Best Dressed” by her 1964 graduating classmates) and Asheboro Commercial College. For most of her career she worked with Forsyth County School District, where she was loved and admired by many. She was a vivacious person with a smile that would warm everyone’s heart. Many compared her good looks and charm to that of the TV “Laugh In” star, Goldie Hawn. A kind and charitable person, Sandra gave annually to many charitable organizations, her favorite being the SPCA as she so loved her dogs.

Sandra wed Everette L. Cooke III in 1968. They gave birth to their son, Brian Keith Cooke, the following year. Traveling frequently, many happy years followed until the untimely death of their beloved son Brian, in 1993.

Sandra is survived by her husband Everette, her brother Larry R. Yow and his wife Glenda, and nephews Eric S. Yow, and Mathew C. Yow and his wife Stephanie.

The Cooke family members are too numerous to list here. All will miss this wonderful person in their lives.

Funeral arrangements are made with Hayworth Miller of Winston-Salem and a graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro on Wednesday April 5th at 2:00 PM where Sandra will be laid to rest beside her cherished son Brian.

Sandra, you were loved by many and will be missed. Someone so special can never be forgotten. May God rest your soul in Heaven.
