Sanders “Sandy” Mayfield Bolling, 82, passed away on October 24, 2023, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Sandy was born on March 30, 1941, in Bullock County, Alabama, to Jackson and Louise Reynolds Bolling. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and master's degree from Wake Forest University. Sandy was employed by Bosch Company in Texas and Champion Industries in Winston-Salem for years as a mechanical and design engineer.
In his early years in Winston Salem, he participated in the chili cookoffs held at Tanglewood Park. He found many other interests over the years. He helped in designing the new chapel at Holy Family Catholic Church and manned their sound board for funerals, weddings, and Sunday masses.
Sandy is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Bolling; brothers-in-law, Joseph Gatto; John Gatto (Lynn) and Charles Gatto; cousins Bobby (Jackie) Reynolds, Chuck (Sue) Reynolds and Bill Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church marked for the choir music account or to a charity of your choice.
