Samuel H. Watson, affectionately known to his family as "Poochie" and friends as "Mule", went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 19, 2023, at the age of 73.
Samuel worked as a warehouse manager for Burlington, Highland and Takata Industries collectively for 47 years until he retired in 2016.
"Sam" was known for his passionate and zealous love for Christ. You would find him every morning reading and studying his bible with a cup of coffee for at least 2 hours a day. If you looked in his bible, every word was underlined, because he believed that every word was important. In conversation with him, he would often say "I believe every word of God". Until his passing, Sam stood on the word of God and believed God's will for his life.
Those who know him, know Sam loved his cars. You would never find the cars dirty or the wheels not shining. He would change the tires on every car he had and replaced them with at least 15-inch rims!
Sam was preceded in death by his mother and father, Leroy and Lorine Watson, a sister Margaret Ann Parker, and brother Charles Watson.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his loving wife of 53 years Deborah Jones Watson, their four children, Kimberly T. Watson of the city, Kenny Watson of Louisville, KY, Kirsten Watson of the city and Kesha (Pablo) Smith of Charlotte, NC. Ten grandchildren, Brandon Watson, Alashia Watson, Kevin Watson, Khristian Allred, Kirsten "KJ" Watson, Jada Boyd, Kadynce Watson, Mason Cousar, Elijah Smith and Ethan Smith, a brother, Lawrence (Denise) Watson and a devoted niece, Pam Tonkins. Five sisters-in-law Jennifer (Marvin) Huff, Andrea Brannon, Galya Jones, Sandra Watson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with the Rev. Oscar Pilson officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00-11:45 AM prior to the service. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
