Samuel 'Bud' Lawrence Pennington

Lewisville-Mr. Samuel ""Bud"" Lawrence Pennington, 85, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born July 15, 1927 in Davie County to the late James Robert Pennington, Jr. and Ruth Beck Pennington. Mr. Pennington was educated in the Forsyth County School System. He was a lifelong member of Grapevine Baptist Church where he faithfully served as the Head Usher for many years. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. as a truck driver with 35 years of service. Mr. Pennington was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death was a son, Kenneth ""K.P."" Lawrence Pennington and two foster daughters, Becky Moore Winfrey and Sheila Ford Coleman. Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Blanche Forbus Pennington; son, Sam J. Pennington and Tammy of Westfield; grandson, Sam ""Joey"" Pennington and wife Carla of Lewisville; daughter-in-law, Shirley R. Pennington of Winston-Salem; great-granddaughter, Nikklyn Pennington; brother, Harley L. ""Bill"" Pennington of Lewisville and several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Bobbyette Forbus and Flora Ruth Forbus; also surviving are special friends Mike and JoJo Moore, Mikey and Michelle Moore, and Wayne and LuAnne Gibbons and sons, Damon and Dillon. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 26, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Comer and Chaplain Randy Hillman officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Kate B.
