Mr. Samuel Ernest Flynt, 89, of Winston-Salem, NC was taken home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. He was born in Germanton, and raised in Winston-Salem to Robert Ray Flynt and Beulah Mae Hill on August 19, 1926. Mr. Flynt was preceded in death by the love of his life for 61 years and beyond, Mrs. Ruby O. Flynt and his grandson, Benjy Shane Flynt. Mr. and Mrs. Flynt's life together was living proof, not only to their five children and all that knew them, that there truly are marriages that are made in Heaven. Mr. Flynt served in the U.S. Army overseas during WWII and the Korean wars. He was proud of his service to his country till the day of his passing. Mr. Flynt worked for Hanes Hosiery for a number of years. He also worked for Pulliam's BBQ for several years. He finally gave up working at the age of 79 after 35 plus years on his final line of work, roofing. Mr. Flynt was a dedicated husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He was one of eleven children. He had eight brothers and two sisters. Five of his brothers are with the Lord, Conrad, Wilson, George, Joe, and Hoke. Surviving are Conrad's wife, Lorene, Joe's wife, Nancy, Wilson's wife Sally, and Hoke's wife Linda; three brothers, Robert Flynt of N. Wilkesboro, Roy Flynt and wife Mona of Yadkinville, and James Flynt and wife June of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Louise Cooper (husband Skeeter is deceased) of Winston-Salem and Mae Burcham (husband Walter is deceased) of Yadkinville; three sons, Sammy and Thomas Flynt of the home and Michael Flynt of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Becky Whaley and husband Tim of Winston-Salem and Debbie Flynt of Clemmons; six grandchildren, Sammy Flynt and wife Carla, Leslie Sykes and husband Eric, Jennifer Fletcher and husband Joel, Tamela Childers and husband Jason, Kristen Flynt, and Jessica Marchant and husband Joseph; twelve great-grandchildren, Austin, Chandler, Eric, Jr., Isaiah, Devin, Bella, Sophie, Ethan, Caydn, Makayla, Aubrey, and Jude; other special family and friends, Lois Whaley and Joe Jablon; a great number of nieces and nephews. In closing the door of our parents' lives, we as their children can say that all those Mom and Dad met was a blessing to them and they were a blessing to all those who met them. God has never created parents that were better or more loving than ours. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev.
