Sammy Threatt

Mr. Sammy Edward Threatt, 81, of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 at his home. He was born May 1, 1930 in Union County to Remus and Carrie Threatt. He was an active member at Robinhood Road Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. Mr.Threatt was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Theresa Vickers and by two brothers. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Minna Wheeler Threatt, a son, Dennis Threatt; three granddaughters, Tiffany Evans, Stephanie DiBello and husband, Chris, and Samantha Vickers; two great grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Evans; two sisters, Ada Dill and husband, Ed and Vertie Robinson and husband, Carl; two brothers, Marvin Threatt and wife, Ruby and Evan Threatt and wife, Lois; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm. Monday at Robinhood Road Baptist Church with Rev. John E. Hackworth, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
