Ryan Christopher VanHoy, 39, passed away Friday September 17, 2021. He was born December 29, 1981, in for Forsyth County to Mary Elizabeth VanHoy and the late Ted William VanHoy. A resident of Rural Hall for almost 30 years Ryan had the opportunity of working with Dr. Susan Ziglar and being part of the community. Where with family, friends, and neighbors he enjoyed the best Halloweens, Christmas parades, birthday parties and family time. Memories were made. Ryan loved his family, his friends, the outdoors, cars, basketball, and music, his favorite artists were the band Candlebox, and Johnny Cash. He was a man of integrity and wisdom but most importantly he was a man of God after dedicating his life to the Lord at Reynolda Presbyterian with Pastor Alan Wright. He was preceded in death by his dedicated father; Ted William VanHoy, his older brother and mentor, Michael Ted VanHoy, and his two great best friends, Dustin Hamilton, and Jason Bennett. He is survived by his loving and adorable mother, Mary Elizabeth VanHoy; his caring sister-in-law Tonya VanHoy and son Nolan; two uncles, James Ballard and Steve Fletcher and family; his God parents, Jim and Nancy Parham, and a piece of his heart Haley Hixon. A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday September 25, 2021, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall. Please bring a poem, story, song, or memory to honor Ryan’s Life. Burial will follow at Mount Olive Baptist Church in King. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem NC, 27103.
