Ryan Colby Kennedy

COLFAX-Ryan Colby Kennedy, 16, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1992 in Forsyth Co. to Ricky and Tina Slate Kennedy. Ryan was an honor student at Glenn High School where he had played 2 years of junior varsity football and 1 year of varsity as a defensive end. He also attended Shady Grove Wesleyan Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Dora Slate. In addition to his parents of the home, surviving are his sister, Renee Kennedy of Greensboro; and his paternal grandparents, S.L. and Norma Kennedy of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Glenn View Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Coleman and the Rev. Tony Parsons officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemterey. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of Ryan's classmates, faculty, friends, and parents of his friends for all of the love and support given during this difficult time. Ryan will be greatly missed.
