Ruth "Pat" Watkins

Ruth “Pat” Elizabeth Stanley Watkins, 96, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 23, 2022.

Pat was born May 19, 1926 in Forsyth County to the late William Abraham Stanley and Cornelia Church Stanley.

She met and then married the love of her life, Harold G. Watkins on Nov. 22, 1978. Pat lived a full and happy life. At times, she was quite the prankster and like to hide then jump out and scare you. At Easter she would have us, her adult children and grandchildren, dress for the season. We all had bunny ears and noses to participate in our traditional adult egg hunt. Pat was very talented and able to play the piano by ear. As a teenager, she sang on the radio on Saturday mornings. Rhythm was in her blood, and she could out dance anyone and sing with the best of them. She was also spelling champion. Pat will be missed by us all.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harold Watkins; her three children, Vickey Brittain (Don), Kathy Sink, and Debi Denning (Jeff); three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Doug Klein officiating.
