Ruth Luecke Wesolowski

Mrs. Ruth Luecke Wesolowski, 90, passed away on June 30, 2014 at Trinity Elms. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 7, 1924 to the late Walter Luecke and Ella Lorenz Luecke. She was a school teacher in Chicago. She then became a civilian employee of Special Services, US Army, stationed in Austria. After 24 years of moving with the military, the family settled in Winston-Salem in 1967. Ruth owned two knitting shops in Reynolda Village. She retired from Knit One Smock Too after 14 years, at age 85. She was preceded in death by husband Stanley Wesolowski. Ruth is survived by four children Paula W. Grogan and husband Tom of Todd, NC, Steven A. Wesolowski and wife Kelli of Cottage Grove, Oregon, Michael J. Wesolowski and wife April of W-S, and Catherine L. Carter of Charlotte, NC; a grandson Brian Thomas Grogan of Todd, NC; sister-in-law Ronnie Wesolowski of Nashua, New Hampshire; and niece Angel Luecke of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday, July 3, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek, with a brief Vigil Service starting at 8 PM, officiated by Father Stephen Hoyt. A private memorial mass will take place Friday. She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
