Ruth Weldy

Mrs. Ruth Sells Weldy, 91, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 15, 2020.

Ruth was born June 23, 1929 in Forsyth County to June and Una Sells.  She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco after 41 years of service and after retirement enjoyed traveling to many different places with her husband and friends.  She attended Linville Forest Church of Christ and also enjoyed many practical hobbies, such as quilting and chair caning.  Ruth made many friends over the years.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 72 years, Edward “Ed” Weldy; daughters, Joy Carlton, Tracy Thomas, and Robin Leigh; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home from 2 – 4 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2020.
