Ruth Litaker Swaim

Mrs. Ruth Litaker Swaim, 97, of Winston-Salem, died on November 29, 2012. She was born April 18, 1915 in Greensboro to the late James Franklin and Luna Rupard Litaker. She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, participating in both the Women's Bible Class and Circle #1. She was also a member of the West Highland Garden Club for many years. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Joseph Holland Swaim, Sr. as well as a brother, James Hilliard Litaker, and three sisters, Mary Litaker Wooten, Julia Mae Litaker and Jean Litaker Hatchett. Surviving are her daughter, Priscilla Swaim Robinette and husband Fred of Advance; a son, Joe Swaim, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Winston-Salem; two granddaughters, Emily Robinette Harpe and husband Slayton of Advance and Sally Robinette Anglin and husband Andrew of Winston-Salem; three great grandchildren, Kathryn and Meredith Harpe and Benjamin Anglin. She is also survived by a sister, Doris Litaker Hartman of Statesville and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Randy Harris officiating.
