Ruth Hege Shaw

Mrs. Ruth Hege Shaw, 92, of Winston-Salem passed away on May 4, 2012 at Vienna Village in Pfafftown where she had resided since 2007. Mrs. Shaw was born April 12, 1920 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late C. Marvin and Dora Boose Hege. Ruth worked throughout her adult life and retired from Western Electric with over 32 years of service. She was a faithful member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church all of her life. She loved gardening and growing flowers, cooking and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arthur Palmer Shaw in 2009 and a sister, Eliza Hege Boger and husband, Howard. Surviving are one sister, Pauline Hege Jones and husband, Beufort of Winston-Salem; a loving niece, Lana Jones Furr and husband, Richard of Greensboro; one great niece, Jena Rhyne and husband, David; one great nephew, Brad Dodson and wife, Emily and three great great nieces, Katelyn, Julianna and Lisa Rhyne all of Winston-Salem. The funeral will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church wiath Rev. Gary Mahathey and Dr. Earl Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway. The family requests memorials be made to Mt.
