Ruth Kelly Morris

Mrs. Ruth Kelly Morris, age 85, passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born August 17, 1926 to Calvin Anderson Kelly and Cora Lee Williard Kelly. She was a graduate of Griffith High School, and was employed by Bassick-Sach Furniture Company for over 30 years. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Rewis Morris, her parents, and four brothers Obdella, Jack, Bill and David. She is survived by her sister Betty K. Russell (Jerry) of Winston-Salem, as well as several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Bud Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Jonestown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 PM, Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Missions Program, 7035 Franklin Rd., Lewisville, NC 27023. The family would like to offer special thanks to her caregiver Maggie Snyder.
