Ruth Suzanne Machamer

KERNERSVILLE – Ruth Suzanne Randall Machamer, 62, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 22, 2024 at her home. Ruth was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 12, 1962 to the late James and Julia Hicks Randall. Ruth was an active member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church and was very active in the community. She served on the Board of the American Lung Association, helped with the Kernersville Foundation, as well as the Rotary Club of Kernersville.

 She had a heart for children and helping others - serving as a Girl Scout Leader for many years; teaching dance classes for the young and old at Dance & Tumble Creations; volunteering at her girls’ schools and always present for their extra curricular activities, to name a few. Ruth always had time for everyone.

Her love for numbers and organization led her to a great career as a CPA, starting with KPMG Accounting Firm in Ohio, where she was a Senior Manager for many years; later working for Pope Companies of Kernersville for over 20 years, before retiring due to health reasons.

Her love for her family was huge and she always had the most beautiful smile that she so gladly shared with everyone.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Troy Machamer; two daughters, Annie Olcott (husband, Zack) and Sarah Deal (husband, Shane); two grandchildren, Stevie Deal and Elliott Olcott; two sisters, Nancy Campbell, and Laura McPherson; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
