Ruth Blanton Jones

Mrs. Ruth Blanton Jones, 78, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday July 3, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Jones was born on July 21, 1932 in Rutherford County, NC. Mrs. Jones spent her professional career working in the retail industry. Ruth was a faithful caretaker of her husband during his illness and she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceding Mrs. Jones in death are her parents; her husband, Nollie Edmon Jones, Sr. and a daughter, Gail. Surviving Mrs. Jones are two sons, Jerry Jones of Winston-Salem and Nollie Jones, Jr. (Juanita) of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Cathy Cooper (Bill) of Florida; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
