Ruth Hutchens Hartgrove

Mrs. Ruth Hutchens Hartgrove, 92, passed away on December 30, 2024, at Universal Healthcare of Ramseur. She was born on September 11, 1932, in Surry County to the late Joseph Hutchens and Loline Payne Allen. Ruth attended Old City Hospital where she received her associate degree in nursing. She worked for over 25 years as a registered nurse at Wake Forest University. Ruth enjoyed cooking, baking, and sitting on her back porch watching birds. She also loved shopping and her dogs, Snoopy and Ziggy. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil “Spec” Preston Hartgrove and son, David Hartgrove. Private interment will take place at a later date.
