Ruth Hall

Ruth Disher Hall, 89, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 22, 1928 in Winston-Salem, NC, the daughter of Ellis and Phamie Wilson Disher. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church, a graduate of RJ Reynolds High School, President of the PTA at Forest Park Elementary School from 1963-1965, and a member of the Booster Club in the 1960’s of the Salvation Army Boy’s Club. She was retired from Wachovia Bank where she worked in Data Processing. She enjoyed going to church, going to Myrtle Beach, lighthouses, reading, crossword puzzles, loved dogs and shopping for clothes, of course. She was a sweet person and devoted to her family and friends and cared deeply for everyone. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, Charles; and one brother, Odell. She is survived by her two sons, Rick Hall and wife, Sandra of Winston-Salem, and Mike Hall of Winston-Salem; a grandson, Brandon Hall of Franklin, OH; a great granddaughter, Chasey; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Kivett Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 13th, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 S. Broad St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
