Mrs. Ruth Sink Cooper of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was born May 8, 1933 in Forsyth County. The daughter of the late Sidney L. Sink and Winnie Burke Sink. Mrs. Cooper attended Friedberg Moravian Church. Mrs. Cooper worked at Hanes Hosiery in the late 50's to early 60's, Cook's Dept. Store from 1964 to 1974 and she also owned and operated Acadia Grill for 30 years. She attended Griffith High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Norman Lawrence (Shorty) Cooper; one daughter, Ruth Elizabeth (Libby) Dorsett; one son, Norman Lawrence (Sonny) Cooper, Jr.; one grandson, Robert E. (Robby) Dorsett, Jr.; three brothers, George, Lee and Ransom; five sisters, Hazel Dorsett, Ethel Myers, Josephine Bowen, Mary Spradlin and Helen Bowen. Survivors include one daughter, Donna Marie (Bunny) Cooper; two sons, Larry Lee Cooper (Shenelia) and Gary Wayne Cooper; one brother, Clay Sink. Many special grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Dan K. Nelson officiating.
