Ruth Elizabeth Fishel Aldridge

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Fishel Aldridge, 96, of Mt. Airy passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at her home. She was born September 5, 1914 in Forsyth County to Arthur and Lettie Myers Fishel. Mrs. Aldridge was a lifelong member of Advent Moravian Church. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 33 years of service. She enjoyed quilting. She enjoyed her birds in her early years, and she loved working in her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Clingman Aldridge Sr.; one son, John Clingman Aldridge Jr.; six brothers; and four sisters. Surviving is one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Aldridge of Mt. Airy; one grandson; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; and one sister, Ester Cash of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18 at Advent Moravian Church Graveyard with the Rev. Roger Kimball and the Rev. Bob Peek officiating. People may pay their respects from 8:30a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Mt.
