Rudy Chandler

Mr. Rudy Edward Chandler, 73, of Lexington, NC, passed away Sunday May 15, 2022, in his home.

He was born on April 3, 1949, to the late Edward Leslie Chandler and Doris Miles Chandler in Covington, Tennessee.

Rudy was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. After his enlistment in the Army, Rudy went on to spend many years honorably working for Raheem Trucking as a freight truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed going to Sunday morning church services, playing golf, and most importantly, playing the guitar with his loving wife, Wanda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Leslie Chandler and Doris Miles Chandler; and his first wife, Cecelia Cole Chandler.

Rudy’s surviving family members include his wife, Wanda Carlotta Shaw; his daughter, Anntyia Vestal; 3 grandchildren, Ginger Vestal, Taryn Vestal, and Charles Williams, III; 3 nephews; and many other special friends.

A visitation will be held for Rudy Tuesday May 17, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held for Rudy on Thursday May 19, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
