HIGH POINT -Mr. Rudolph Evan Duncan 82, of High Point died Saturday February 7, 2009. He was born in Rockingham County to the late Jesse Gilmer and Essie Grogan Duncan. Mr. Duncan was a member of Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He served as Fire Chief in the Deep River Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years and he retired from Piedmont Ford Truck. He was an avid Fisherman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Glen Duncan and one grandson Keith Elkins. He is survived by his wife Rosa Wear Duncan of High Point; one son Roger Duncan and his wife Jennifer, of Franklinville, NC; one daughter Rita D. Elkins and her husband Duke, of Greensboro; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother James Duncan and his wife Dallas, of High Point; one sister Frances Shields of Greensboro. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday February 9, 2009 at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church with Dr. Mary Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7- 9:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Kernersville Chapel. The family request that memorial contributions be made to; Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church, 2223 Sandy Ridge Rd. High Point, NC 27265
