Ruby Allene Robbins Walker

Mrs. Ruby Allene Robbins Walker, 78 of Winston Salem, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on August 27, 1931 in Forsyth County to the late John Robert and Jenny Krites Robbins. Mrs. Walker was a member of Oak Grove Moravian Church for the past 51 years. She was retired from Adams Millis with 27 years of service. She enjoyed reading and clipping coupons, as well as cooking Sunday Dinner for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Walker Hayes, two brothers Ira Allen, and John William Robbins. Surviving is her loving husband of 62 years, Mr. Thomas Odell Walker of the home, one granddaughter, Keeley Hayes Greer and husband, Mike of Walkertown, two great granddaughters Kayla and Lydia Greer, one sister Joyce Hopson and husband Harold of Garner, one brother, Dallas Robbins and wife Frances of Winston Salem, several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, August 14, 2009 at Gardens of Memory of Walkertown with Rev. Matthew W. Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at Hayworth- Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
