Ruby Perdue Shields

Kernersville - Ruby Perdue Shields,71, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009 at her residence. She was born October, 29, 1937 in Rockingham Co. to the late Ezra Odell and Lizzie Everett Perdue. Ruby attended Kernersville Wesleyan Church and worked at Kayser-Roth for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Richard Shields. Surviving are; a daughter Donna S. Horton and husband Jeff, two granddaughters, Rachel and Hanna, two grandsons, David and Will all of High Point, a sister, Edna Beeson of Kernersville, two brothers, Junior Perdue of Kernersville, and Lewis Perdue of Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2009, at the Kernersville Wesleyan Church by Pastor Phil Hulen. Burial will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. The family request memorials be directed to the American Heart and Stroke Association at 202 Centreport Dr. Suite 100 Greensboro, NC 27409.
