Mrs. Ruby Ellen Robertson Saylor, 96, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was born June 22, 1921 in Forsyth County. Mrs. Saylor was a devoted member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church for most of her life, where she served as diener in the church. She kept the church nursery for over 50 years and enjoyed having children around her. Ruby was married on August 3, 1946 to James William "Bill" Saylor, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents, Bunah Mary Mock Robertson and Coston Enoch Robertson; three sisters and five brothers. Surviving are her four children, Patsy Nifong (Frank), Susie Jones, Charles Saylor and Debbie Senter (Roy); 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Dr. Worth Green and The Rev. Dr. David A. Marcus, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
