Ruby Lucille Ogburn

Ruby Lucille Blackmon Ogburn, 92, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Summerstone Health and Rehab Center. 

Mrs. Ogburn was born November 27, 1931, in Howard County, Maryland, to Earl Blackmon Sr. and Minnie Bell Ford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ogburn; one daughter, Valencia Banner; one sister, Sadie (Sherwood); two brothers, Earl (Ella), and Lee (Mary); and one son in-law, Willie Johnson Jr. 

Left to cherish her memory are three sons, Gilbert Young, Rasheed Mohammad “Mario Young”, and Roderic Young (Sandra); two daughters, Viveca Johnson, and Michellyne Stewart; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret, Selena, Ava, and Colleen; and one brother, Tony.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel with Minister Sandra Young officiating.
