Ruby Jones Mickey

Ruby Jones Mickey, 85, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went to be with her Lord on July 30, 2011. She was born on March 1, 1926 to the late Elser Franklin and Lizzie Miller Jones. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Otho L. Mickey, and a brother John Franklin Jones. She is survived by her children, Lynn Mickey Creech of Kernersville, and Ted Mickey and wife Brenda of Walkertown; a sister, Reva Jones Miller of Winston-Salem; and four grandchildren, Joie Lynn Stevens and husband Brent of Kernersville, Kelly Ann Padgett and husband Bryan of Hampstead, NC, Andrew L. Mickey and Katy M. Mickey of Walkertown. Five great grandchildren: Jake and Casey Stevens, Morgan, Deacon and Carson Padgett. She was a long time member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church in Walkertown, NC. The family would like to extend a special thanks to a loving niece and care giver Pat Mickey of Westfield, NC and Juanita Bennett and Karen Mitchell. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Scott Osterberg officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
