Ruby Smith McKnight

Mrs. Ruby Smith McKnight, 100 of Advance, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Bermuda Commons. She was born September 16, 1910 in Davie County to the late Floyd and Josephine Tucker Smith. Mrs. McKnight was a charter member of Green Meadows Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. McKnight; one son, Ronnie McKnight; two sisters, Irene Armsworthy and Grey Robertson and one brother, Gurney Smith. Surviving is a daughter, Vivian M. Allan and husband Lester of Advance and one granddaughter, Kim Doby and husband Charlie of Advance; one sister Jessie Hodson and one brother-in-law, C.T. Robertson. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Green Meadows Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Waters and Dr. Kenneth Hyde. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. The family of Mrs. McKnight would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Bermuda Commons and Liberty Hospice for the kind and dedicated care given to both Mrs. McKnight and her family.
