Ruby York Marshall

Mrs. Ruby York Marshall passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Priddy Manor Assisted Living. She was born on September 23, 1916 to Furst Wesley and Ada Cook York. Mrs. Marshall was a member of Woodland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobert Vance Marshall and a grandson, David Vance Marshall. She is survived by two sons, Arnold V. Marshall and his wife Kathy of Pinnacle, Gene Marshall and his wife Dianne of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Brigitte Ann Wall and her husband Ed, Becky Jones and her husband Bud, Brian Marshall and his wife Ginger, Shewnee Johnson and her husband Bob, Randall Marshall and his wife Angie; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters. ""Flip"" Hicks of Bristol, VA and Dorothy ""Dot"" Self and her husband Eugene of Winston-Salem. The family would like to acknowledge the love and kindness of Julie Farmer and her staff and friends at Priddy Manor and also her special friend Sandy ""Annie"" Cates and her daughter Cindy. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Walnut Cove. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Evelyn Lemons and Rev. Zeno Groce officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
