Ruby Johnson

Miss Ruby Carolyn Johnson, 82, of Winston-Salem, entered the more immediate presence of her Lord and savior on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County to the late Dewey Hall Johnson and Ruby Belle Coltrane Johnson on January 25, 1940. She worked for Clemson University and The Home Extension Service of South Carolina. She retired to return home and care for her aging mother. Carolyn researched the family history on both the Johnson and Coltrane sides of the family and faithfully attended the Johnson family reunion when possible. She leaves behind an infinite number of cousins too numerous to name here and she will be dearly missed. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Hope Moravian Church, with Rev. Margaret Norris and Rev. David Merritt officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Committal will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family would like to thank the staff of Mallard Ridge Assisted living for all the love and care they showed Carolyn, also many thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for their care and services, and within the past mouth she was cared for at Brookridge Healthcare Center. In lieu of flowers consider a donation to The Moravian Archives Endowment Fund, 457 South Church Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
