Ruby Foltz Hartman

Ruby Foltz Hartman, 88, of Clemmons, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014.

Ruby was born November 22, 1925 to the late Clyde Foltz and Lillian Lambeth Foltz. On December 20, 1941, she married the love of her life, Charlie ""C.D."" Hartman, who precedes her in death. She was a longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. She retired from Roses Department Store, and worked there as an Office Manager. Ruby enjoyed fishing, but most of all loved to talk to everyone and never knew a stranger. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby is predeceased by brothers, Joe and C.J. Foltz, and sister, Ruth Rebecca Foltz.

Ruby is survived by son Ron Hartman of Winston-Salem; daughters, Rita Whisenhunt and husband Cliff of Clemmons and Jacque Scism and husband Ben of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Christy Koontz and husband Ty, Chad Whisenhunt and wife Angela, Jessica Scism-Jones and husband Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jackson Koontz, Reagan Koontz, Holden Koontz, and Charles Whisenhunt; brother, Matt Foltz and wife Alice; sister-in-law, Mary Foltz; brother-in-law, Wayne Hartman and wife Ronda; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ruby's life will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walktertown. The family will receive friends Friday, August 1, 2014 from 6 - 8 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Brookstone Terrace for their wonderful care of Ruby during her time there.
