Ruby Beckel Byerly

Mrs. Ruby Beckel Byerly, 90, of Winston-Salem passed away April 26, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 24, 1919 in Davidson County to the late Julius Franklin and Annie Foltz Beckel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Byerly in 1986 and two sons, Richard B. Byerly and Leon F. Byerly. She was also preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Byerly was a lifelong member of Friedberg Moravian Church. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Annette Byerly Sexton and husband Curtis, and Tonya Byerly Ward and husband, Brad; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Richard Sexton, Jeffrey Curtis Sexton, and Liam Cortland Ward; a special niece and caregiver, Carole Beckel Ring, and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to thank Forsyth Medical Center Palliative Care and the Staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their care and compassion.
