Mrs. Ruby Waddell Ballard of Winston-Salem passed away October 1, 2012 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born May 4, 1916 in Wilkes County to John and Victoria Waddell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Drewie Alson Ballard, a special son, Douglas Edward Ballard, two sisters, Pearl Renegar and Emma Thomas, and two brothers, Ivy Waddell and Ed Gwaltney. Surviving are two daughters, Ann Ibraham of Walnut Cove and Chrystal Crosby of Winston-Salem; 4 grandchildren, Dr. Gerald Jason Ibraham of Virginia Beach,Charles Edward Crosby, Jr. of Winston-Salem, Malinda C. Owen of Germanton and Mark Jessup of Clemmons; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at12:30 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. William Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 - 12:30 pm prior to the service. There will be a family interment at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Walkertown. A special thank you to caregivers, PamWilliams and Alisha McMillan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Senior Services, 2895 Shorefair Drive, W-S, N.C. 27105 or to the Kate B.
