Mrs. Ruby Pruitt Adams, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at her home. She was born June 25, 1921 in Surry County to Thomas B. Pruitt, Sr. and Bessie Hodge Pruitt. Mrs. Adams loved to crochet and knit, especially baby clothes and afghans. She was a member of Immanuel New Eden Moravian Church. She loved her husband, son and grandchildren very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Roy Pruitt; and a sister, Irene Little. Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Fred L. Adams; one son, Robert L. Adams and wife Barbara; two grandchildren, Gail McCann and Dean Adams and wife Cindy; four great grandchildren, Hannah Davis, Adam Davis, Emily McCann and Mitch Adams; four sisters, Ruth Parks, Rosa Vestal, Younnie (Pete) Elliott and Betty Reavis; three brothers, Thomas Pruitt, Jr., Leon Pruitt and Gene Pruitt; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with the Rev. Walter Bishop and the Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
