Mrs. Ruby Mae Hendrix Adams, age 92 of Winston-Salem went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday morning December 13, 2012 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alleghany County, September 28, 1920 to Gordon C. Hendrix, Sr. and Dora W. Hendrix. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Winston-Salem and retired from R.J. Reynolds after 27 years of service. Ruby was joined in Heaven by her parents, husband; Russell I. Adams, daughter; Doris Hamlin, infant daughter, sisters; Eva Edwards, Nina Pruitt, Juanita Magness, Ruth Hendrix and Maxine Badger; and brothers: Clarence Hendrix, Leonard Hendrix and Clive Hendrix Remaining family include son, Dennis (Margie) Adams, daughter; Debbie (Frank) Flippin, son-in-law; Tom Hamlin and âadopted' daughter; Karen Badger, brothers; Ralph Hendrix of Maryland, Gordon Hendrix of Advance and sister; Virginia (Bob) Whetzler of Delaware. Grandchildren include Mark Adams, Christine Silva, Kevin Adams, Lisa Fentress, Julie Thompson, Shannon Wombaugh, Adam Clifton and Kristi Riggins; and great grandchildren Brittany, Cameron, Brooke, Brianna, Megan, Jared, Landon, Bethany, Kaley, Kaleb, James, Elijah, Ivan, Abigail and Lilly, and multiple great-great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15th at 2 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Hall by Elder David Edwards and Brad Wombaugh. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 at the funeral home Saturday prior to the funeral service.
