Roy Lee Allen

Mr. Roy Lee Allen Jr., 82, passed away Saturday September 24, 2022, at his home. He was born September 27, 1939, to the late Roy Lee Allen Sr. and Delsie Scott Allen. Roy loved his family dearly especially his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and prayed for them all daily. He was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist church where he taught the junior high boys Sunday school class for over 50 years and was well known for his growing of tomatoes and roses. In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by a brother; Jack Scott Allen, and a sister; Betty Lou Middleton. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine and a half years, Brenda Allen, his four children; Robin Prater, Tonia Kinzer, Jeffrey Freeman, and Joel Freeman, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a special friend and brother-in-law David Lowe. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Wednesday September 28, 2022, at Freedom Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Edwards, Pastor Brian Edwards, and Pastor Jon White officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pinnacle Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Freedom Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Freedom Baptist Church Missions Fund, 1000 Rural Hall Germanton Road, Rural Hall NC, 27045.
