Royce Beck Smith

Mr. Royce Beck Smith, 85, passed away at Trinity Glen on March 14, 2013. He was born to Bunyan D. Smith and Hattie Weavil Smith in 1927. He resided on the family farm his entire life, where he worked as a farmer until his retirement. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Earl, Roger, and Wade and a sister Jewel Lankford. He was a faithful member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church for many years. He was loved by his family, friends, and neighbors for his subtle sense of humor and easygoing, caring attitude. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Essex Smith; three children, Rebecca Smith Gurley and husband Anthony , Stanley Royce Smith and wife Joannie, and Larry Dean Smith and wife Geri; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Cash, Rev. Ellis Rouse, and Rev. Rick LeBaube officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
