Roy Alfred Winfrey of Tobaccoville, died at Forsyth Medical Center, Sunday November 14, 2010. He was 80 years old. Roy was born November 2, 1930 to Carl Lee and Katie Rebecca Huffman Winfrey. He was married 58 years to Doris Long Winfrey of Tobaccoville. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Robah, Donald, and Kenneth Winfrey. Surviving are his wife Doris of the home, and four sons; Michael A. (Sue) Winfrey of Archdale, Timothy D. (Phyllis) Winfrey of Archdale, Daniel L. (Kathy) Winfrey, of Randleman, Randy K. Sr. (Debbie) Winfrey, of Beaufort, NC. He has eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He has one brother Burton (Virginia) Winfrey; three sisters Ruth W. (Dalton) Robertson, Mary (Fred) Holder, and Carol W. Burnette, and a number of nieces and nephews. Roy was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Roy retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Roy was a Presbyterian from his young boy hood and through his adult life. Visitation will be Monday November 15, from 6-8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday November 16, at Forsyth Memorial Park.
