Roy Seymour, Jr.

Roy Preston Seymour, Jr., 85, of King , passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Surrounded by his devoted wife Peggy of almost 65 years & his two loving sisters, Roy was called home to be with the Lord. Roy was born on Christmas Day, 1936 to Roy P. & Audrey Seymour in Greensboro, NC. A graduate of Dallas (NC) High School, Roy enlisted in the United States Air Force, June 1957, where he served his country proudly for 7 years. After an honorable discharge, he entered into a career with Reisenweaver Communications and then co-founded Carolina Communications. A devout Christian, Roy was an elder and active member with Bridges Church. A loving husband, father & brother, his spiritual guidance & easygoing nature was a great comfort to those who knew and loved him. Roy was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, when time allowed and spending with his family. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Seymour Landreth and sisters, Alveda Seymour Cunningham & Renee Seymour Bostic. Roy is survived by his wife Peggy Hubbard Seymour of the home, son Mark Seymour and wife Allyson of Concord, sisters Carolyn Seymour Ghaemmaghami of San Diego & Beverly Seymour Heslop of Irmo, SC, and many beloved family members. A memorial will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Bridges Church, 3151 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem NC. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Patrick Norris will officiate.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to Bridging The Gap (btgwinstonsalem.net).
