Roy Edwin Raines, Jr.

Mr. Roy Edwin Raines, Jr. age 89 of Clemmons, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 1, 2016 at his home. He was born May 25, 1926 in Wake County to the late Roy Edwin Raines and Hazel Hailey Raines. Mr. Raines served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, had retired from Piedmont Airlines after 34 years of service and was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Raines; one daughter, Dr. Karen Raines of Clemmons; one son, Ed Raines and wife Beth of Pfafftown; one granddaughter, Elyse Raines and fiancé, Matt Bottomley and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Clemmons Moravian Church by Rev. Ray Burke. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
