Roy Wilburn Cox

Mr. Roy Wilburn Cox, 86, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 9, 1938, in Forsyth County to the late Mr. Paul H. Cox and Mrs. Pauline Shutt Cox. Mr. Cox loved hunting, fishing, and he enjoyed watching Nascar. Roy was a dedicated employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company for 37 years where he served as a supervisor. After retirement he spent his time working in his garden and on his equipment. Surviving him is his son, Dr. John Chadley Holland and wife, Kim; two grandchildren, Grayson and Kate Holland; a sister, Betty Carter; and two nieces, Joni and Pam. 

A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. John Bishop officiating. There will be no formal visitation held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is respectfully serving the family of Mr. Cox.
